  وبعد زيارة المقرر الخاص المعني باستقلال القضاة والمحامين إلى كازاخستان، رحب "بالخطوات التي قامت بها كازاخستان منذ 1991 لأجل الانضمام إلى عدد من الصكوك الدولية لحقوق الإنسان، وخاصة منها توقيع العهد الدولي الخاص بالحقوق المدنية والسياسية والعهد الدولي الخاص بالحقوق الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والثقافية، [وحثَّ] السلطات على ضمان التصديق عليهما بسرعة، ومن دون إبداء أي تحفظات، بما في ذلك الانضمام إلى البروتوكول الاختياري للعهد الدولي الخاص بالحقوق المدنية والسياسية .
